If you have taken my Typography class you might remember that during class number two’s lecture about Garamond I use this slide to talk about how using Garamond is an eco-friendly choice of typeface.
Well now I have scientific proof that this is correct!
14-year-old Suvir Mirchandani studied ink usage within different typefaces for a science project and found that is the U.S. government used Garamond instead of Times New Roman they’d save buckets of $$. Nice.
One thing that wasn’t said but I can’t help but insert is how much classier all printed documents look when set in Garamond. Times is clunky and looks like old shoes. Garamond is an old fashioned yet super classy typeface. Not showy or frilly, just quietly doing its job without exerting too much personality. Go Garamond!Thank you Bonnie!
